DUTIES- RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing detailed designs.
- Doing technical on-site investigations, assessments, and inspections.
- Preparing and implementing project plans.
- Researching and providing estimates for projects.
- Reviewing and complying with government regulations and ordinances.
- Monitoring and optimizing safety procedures, production processes, and regulatory compliance.
- Managing and controlling the ISO processes.
- Conducting Method Statements and Task Risk Assessments.
- Carrying out structural analysis.
- Making recommendations or presenting alternative solutions to problems.
- Confidently liaising with clients and other professional subcontractors.
- Project management duties (e.g. managing budgets, resources, and deadlines; acquiring and compiling quotes, etc.).
- Staying up to date with international engineering trends.
- Supervising production and fabrication of structures.
- Implementing engineering and construction solutions and designs.
- Manage, design, develop, create, and maintain small-scale through to larger-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner.
- Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging structural/construction problems and deficiencies.
- Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with management.
- Monitor progress and compile reports on project status.
- Control the purchase of equipment and materials.
- Complete construction projects by preparing engineering drawings, design, and documents to meet required specifications.
- Design construction projects by studying project concepts, architectural drawings, and models.
- Determine project costs by calculating labour, material, and related costs.
- Produce drawings for steel works and cutting sheets for fabrics.
- Confirm adherence to construction specifications and safety standards by monitoring project progress, inspecting construction sites, and verifying calculations and placements.
- Fulfill project requirements by training and guiding staff.
- Maintain operations by enforcing project and operational policies and procedures.
- Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
- Comply with all legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation in construction, enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions.
- Introduce and implement the necessary quality control measures.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR RECRUITMENT
- Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering or related field.
- Proven working experience in civil or structural engineering.
- Member of HTHK.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and listening skills.
- Experience in Project Management and supervision skills.
- Steadfast dedication to ethical codes of practice.
- Familiarity with design software, such as Autodesk, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MicroStation.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and design.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Leadership skills to effectively manage a diverse group of professionals working on one project.
- Ability to coordinate more than one project at a time.
